Pathways to a healthy net-zero future by The Lancet Pathfinder Commission identifies container-based sanitation (CBS) as key solution for delivering climate action and health co-benefits.

USAID’s report, Managing the climate impact of human waste, which examines existing knowledge about methane emissions and abatement approaches for urban sanitation in low- and middle-income countries, proposes immediate investment in CBS for its high methane abatement potential.
